PROJECT SONGWRITE

What if discovering the next great songwriter became the show?

Project SongWrite is a reality competition where undiscovered songwriters compete by creating original music—and audiences help determine which songs deserve to become hits.

But the show is only the beginning.

Project SongWrite explores a larger ecosystem connecting songwriters, artists, producers, audiences, streaming platforms and the music industry.

Here's the story so far. What can you add to what happens next?

Songwriters write the songs the world sings. What if we made discovering them the competition?

Project SongWrite is a reality competition built around the people behind the music: the songwriters.

Each challenge asks contestants to create an original song around a genre, theme, artist, emotion or real-world creative brief. Their songs are performed, released and put before an audience.

But instead of simply voting for a favorite contestant, the audience helps determine which songs have real value. Listening, sharing—and ultimately purchasing—can become part of the vote.

The competition doesn't just ask, “Who is the best songwriter?”

It asks something much more interesting:

“Which songs does the world actually want?”

HOW IT WORKS

The songwriter is the star. The song is the product. The audience is the market.

Each challenge gives competing songwriters a creative assignment—a genre, theme, artist, emotion or other musical brief.

They write.

Artists perform.

The songs are released.

And the audience responds.

But Project SongWrite introduces a critical difference: the audience doesn't just vote. It participates in the marketplace.

Streams, shares, downloads and purchases can help reveal which songs people actually value.

The competition becomes a real-world test of the music.

THE BIGGER IDEA

What if the show were only the beginning?

Project SongWrite could become more than a competition. The show introduces audiences to new songwriters and new music—but behind it could grow an ecosystem designed to help songs travel from idea to creation to discovery to market.

Songwriters create.

Artists discover songs.

Producers help develop them.

Audiences discover and support them.

Streaming platforms distribute them.

The music industry finds new talent and new intellectual property.

The television show becomes the front door to a new marketplace for songwriting.

And that creates a powerful flywheel:

CREATE → COMPETE → DISCOVER → LISTEN → BUY → SHARE → CREATE AGAIN

WHAT DOES THIS STORY NEED?

Maybe you have the missing piece.

Project SongWrite is still an unfinished Business Story. Moving it forward will require people with different knowledge, resources, relationships and perspectives.

We’re looking for:

  • TV & Film — producers, production companies, networks and streaming services

  • Music Industry — songwriters, artists, publishers, labels and music executives

  • Technology — people who can help develop the audience, marketplace and platform experience

  • Distribution — streaming and music-platform relationships

  • Strategic Partners — organizations that could help test, develop or launch the concept

  • Sponsors & Advertisers — brands interested in music, creators and audience participation

  • Evidence & Expertise — research, industry knowledge or insight that could make the concept stronger

  • Connections — maybe you simply know someone we should talk to

Then I'd end with a larger statement:

You don't have to build the whole story. You may just have the piece it needs next.

WHAT CAN YOU ADD TO THIS STORY?

Every story is unfinished until the right people find it.

Maybe you have an idea we haven't considered. Maybe you know something we don't. Maybe you know someone we should meet. Or maybe you want to help build it.

What can you bring to Project SongWrite?
